Sagar Verma (he/they) is a Delhi based singer-songwriter and content creator. Active on Instagram, where he engages with his community who he calls Daisies – Sagar can often be found gracefully calling out toxic masculinity, and challenging notions around gender conformity while draped in a saree. 

 

Through his original songs, Sagar helps people cultivate radical compassion for themselves, and explore complex themes around mental health, self-love, romance, and even heartbreaks.

 

In 2022, Sagar released a new single every month starting June. Their recent originals were termed as ‘gentle & evocative’ and ‘loving & comforting’, respectively, by notable publications such as The Rolling Stone, High on Score, The New Indian Express, etc. Their singles Pyaar Hai and Jee Chaahe went on to hit 600,000 streams on Spotify and still run strong amongst their listeners. They were the youngest speaker at TEDxVBIT, Hyderabad in 2022. Over the course of the past couple of months, Sagar has fostered an online Instagram community of 11,000+ feminists, allies, and LGBTQIA+ folks. His recent videos went viral on reels with 4 million+ total views, and he has gained quite a lot of recognition on social media. Their IG live series ‘Sing You to Sleep’ is widely popular amongst their Daisies.

His music – inspired by melodic rock, blues and pop – is relatable and accessible, and his words soothing, inspiring his listeners to fall in love with themselves all over again. His debut album 'Khud Se Mohabbat'- which documents his own journey of learning to love himself again- will be out soon.
